C100: Using 1 monitor with 2 cameras

cool find! I;ve been in that situation before a lot and I always wondered if that existed. For a single person shooting this is an invaluable tool to have. I wonder if switching back and forth might trip the record to come off?

if you get it report back and let us know, well let me know :-P

I know a bunch of Panasonic, TV Logic, and Flanders Scientific have dual monitoring capability. They show both images side by side. My 17' CM171 has it... very useful.

I can't speak to the TV Logic and Flanders, but unless Panny has updated their offerings you can't see two LIVE pictures side-by-side with Panny monitors without a quad box or other external signal processor. Some Pannys will do a side-by-side BUT one picture is a freeze frame.

I have done this with two C300's to a Marshall 7" monitor which has SDI and HDMI. Run SDI out of one C300, HDMI out of the other C300. You can't see each simultaneously but you can switch via monitor's input button to view each individually.

The switching does not affect recording at all.

Ive definitely done this on a shoot with a BTLH17. At least I think that was the model, but definitely a Panasonic. Think it was their newest offering. Buried in the menus but it was there.

Yep, the 1710(I have this one, but don't really use it any more) and 1760 can do split screen freeze frame(one live pic and one frozen).

With the processing power available today, ALL professional monitors should contain the ability to do LIVE split screen with at least two sources.
