another music video shoot with an ambition shot list, and some long days left the final two 8gb p2 cards with some serious issues and us with lost (maybe) footage. One card as soon as it is inserted in the p2 store gives a R3 solid and R2 blinking error msg which means it was removed too soon, and the second card appears to have no footage on it at all any longer.
-been up at ablecine
-called the posthouses
-attempted direct g4 laptop accquision first (crashed cpu - card 1)
-p2 store wouldn't import card 1 and didn't see any footage on card 2
-direct from camera to computer (mac g5) via usb 2.0 did not work
-downloaded p2 simple checker and tried to use a pc laptop resulted in cards not being recongized on the computer
-downloaded and bought p2 genie for pc's last night so at least we will be able to see the card today?
my questions are what data recovery techniques are available to get whatever ever information is possible off of these cards, card 1 has the error so there is a chance that it still has footage on it perhaps, and card 2 is reading empty?
are there programs to buy? is there a person in nyc to go and see? please help out guys as im really in a jam and a reshoot would be really expensive and basically impossible
