Used AF100's making me want a second one?

I don't even consider myself a "DP", more of an accomplished camera operator, but I just shot and edited a feature on the AF100 on a tiny budget and have no less than 5 distributors interested and 3 written proposals I'm looking over today. All 3 would be considered major direct to DVD distributors in my genre (family/ faith based) . There are better instruments for shooting projects destined for the big screen, but for the rest of us, there is just no better camera right now for the money. The other lesson learned is, story is really king, cinematic quality is just a nice extra.

Thanks for sharing that, and big congratulations on the success with your feature! Do you happen to know a J. Harvey there in your fine city? He makes faith based works, but I think he mostly does documentaries and not narratives.

Thanks for the kind words... haven't run into J Harvey yet but will be on the lookout, there is a local meetup called "Faith & Film" I haven't been to yet, might run into him there.

I didn't want to write his whole name, just for the sake of this post showing up from Googling his name. Maybe I'm more funny about that than others are. But his first name rhymes with Dustin. He has won some local (/regional) Emmies. I think he may work directly with the local PBS station. Any way, he's family of a long time friend of my fathers', so I just kind of know "of" him. But I hear he makes some good works, that are faith based. I believe this is his IMDB page if you want to look him up.

Looks like I have run across his name before, good to know about filmmakers in this area doing similar projects as I might need to connect with them at some point.
