I was bothered by not being able to use the P2 cards directly in my desktop without buying a P2 card reader. But I got an idea, so I networked my laptop with firewire (cause it's easier) then shared the P2 card in the pcmcia slot on the network. I made a shortcut to the card via the network.
I'm able to use the P2 viewer and import with edius through the shared card. Hope this helps someone.
