C200: Use for locking washers?

My C200 came with four locking washers. Does anyone know what these are for?

The manual refers to them as bolt retainers, not lock washers. Perhaps they are used to hold bolts in place when the item the bolt holds is removed, such as the bolt holding the handle to the body. In other words, so the bolt doesn’t fall out of the handle. I have not yet tried using them.

They are bolt retainers and they do not do their job well. I have used mine but the material is too flexible and they just fall off and I almost lose them all of the time. We rented an additional C200 from Lensrentals.com for a shoot today and the rented one had the same issue. One more minor design flaw, they need to be made out of much stiffer, more durable metal to work effectively. I use them but I also wrap a piece of gaffer tape around the tie down knob for the handle when it's not mounted on the camera and for the crappy LCD Touchscreen mounting arm too.

I replaced all the plastic bolt retainers (once they fell off) with small rubber o-rings and have yet to have an issue with them since.
