Ursa Mini 4.6k Released ?

I think he responded to someone via social media on one of the other forums (DVXuser isn't really the place for Blackmagic info)...

The Crue footage is pretty good looking stuff. Pretty convincing and shows the camera at ISO 800 is very very nice.

Looks nice. Not a fan of the highlights, but seems like there is enough latitude to work around. I like it. Any one have a break down of the cost going with a bmc? Sure there is a little nfrastructure cost, maybe not quite like a red, but surely different than a t2i.

About $6K, maybe $6500 for 4.6K Mini EF. Would cover body, v-mount plate, 2-3 batteries and one/two 2.0 cards. Could easily keep it at $6K if you shop at the right places. Over on BMCuser, people are getting cards from Amazon/Ebay and finding great discounts. The consensus is they are real and no dropped frames occur. KAYO batteries from Amazon are amazing and have lots of power.

Cameras require two things. They need to come in black, & they need to have a viewfinder.

Add another $1500.

haha...yea, if someone is used to using a viewfinder than the BM viewfinder is super nice. I personally use a monitor 99% of the time (mostly indoor filming) but there is nothing like using a good viewfinder when you need one.

I am partial to viewfinders.

I just tried to help and provide a very brief breakdown/estimated cost of the bare essentials regarding functionality. Accessorizing will make any camera more expensive.

There are too many variables to consider when building a camera system. Which mount? Which battery plate? Which batteries? Which cards? Which brands/models? Where are you buying from? Are we including matte boxes, FF systems, filters, cages, handles, and other misc accessories in the bundle as well? When is a camera ready to go for you?

Lots of information is readily available to all human beings who choose to engage in the research.

I love searching and learning about various accessories and options for a new camera.

Bottom line: prices will vary for everyone.

Thank you for this wonderful break down. Great info. Had meant to come back to this and say thanks.

In most cases viewfinders are not necessary unless they're to be used as an ENG camera. I can honestly say that I never use mine.
If this camera turns out to be everything they claim, I would buy one.

This post adjusted to appease JamesOb57

Cameras don't need a view finder unless your using it as an ENG camera I can honestly say that I never use mine, and most people interested in this camera already own a lot of the things they
would need to set it up to be fully functional. If this camera turns out to have the look that I want along with all the other benefits you get at this price point I would be more
than happy to purchase one.
I see what your* saying i can honestly say you don't need full stops/periods to note sentence changes either ;)
