Urgent sound.

Como's back. back again
Sorry to post this hear, thought I would get more responses and I need this answer quick!

Im shooting on the A1, and an using a shot gun mic on a boom.

What settings do I change on the Canon to get BOTH channels on the mic. I seem to be only getting the one side.

Thanks,

Robbie

It depends on whether you're using a mono or stereo microphone. I'm assuming it's mono and you want the camera to record the microphone identically on both the left and right audio channels.

To do this, make sure you have the XLR inputs enabled on the AUDIO SETUP screen.

Plug the mic into XLR input 1.

Set the input channel selection switch to CH-1*CH-2. (It's a physical switch on the panel above the XLR input housing.)

Now the audio recording to channel 1 will be recorded to channel 2 as well.

If none of this makes sense, it's all on page 48 of the manual.

If you can't figure it out, it shouldn't be a problem anyway. You can always put it in both channels in post.
