Urgent help needed with Audio!

It's not really a matter of not wanting to hire someone, it's more that it will be difficult to hire a sound guy for a week of straight shooting on a remote island in the Atlantic..at 4 days notice...we have to find something now...we're leaving shortly.

I should mention that while, yes, I do want to get good audio, dialogue only accounts for two of the 30 or so scenes in the film. The dialogue shots are static, and the actors are as well, in those scenes. I need something that I can use for that, and specific environmental audio as well.

I'm going to do a second test, and see how the c 747 sounds again.

I'm sold on the windboss.

I'd like to match it to a quality shotgun & Zepp for outdoor filming.

Nope, I would only recommend the CK98 if you were to get it from RVACanada (B&H don't have it in stock) and if you also got the CK93.

A week of straight shooting for $700, I don't know, it's still worth posting the job, especially if you're on a remote island, some people might be up for it just for the xperience.

If you're specifically doing foley, environment, and spacial sounds then the MKH416 is the ideal mic. You need to look at the used market to get one in your budget. If you cannot do that, then your only option is an AT4073a, which I still do not stand behind for your needs.

Okay,
I've come to a decision.

First, thank you very much for the help. I found the tone a bit grating at times - but I do understand that it must be frustrating to be in the position of more or less answering the same question, over and over. The best apology I can give is that your assistance is appreciated.

This is my first film (can you tell, lol) and I've managed to structure things appropriately now. For the island, we'll be using the 4073, and the Windboss.

The AKG system was very tempting, dealer-law issues aside, but I decided on the 4073 due to it's capacity at Phantom power. On the island, batteries aren't too much of an issue, but when I film a continuation of the feature in the Sahara this April, it very definitely will be. I need something that can run off the cam.

Later on, for filming indoor environments, I"ll probably take Yankee's secondary advice and go with the Oktava later this winter for those scenes.

Thanks very, very, much for this last-minute help.
I'll make sure to report how the experience went, in December.

Janos
