FS7: Urgent FS7 / 7Q slow raw problem - It's all gone a bit 80s Michael Mann

Sam and Morton, you guys are legends. Sam, the Resolve thing suddenly and immediately brought to footage back to 'vaguely' in the ballpark of correct.

The piece was very rough and underexposed just take SOMETHING through a roundtrip. This sort of tells me that maybe just maybe I can do something to the footage before handing it off.

forgot the other photo,
went to Grey white balance picked lettering on shirt, adjusted exposure etc. spent 30 sec.

I'm the middle of a couple things so dont have time to play with it.

cheers
Morton

Ben. Id do a proper test.

What we can see is the 'input' aka camera tab (I suppose the base debayer) is making a huge difference.

The BMC obviously has a more similar algorithm than the standard DNG - but it still could be vastly off from making a proper image..

I'm playing with it now and can vaguely 'normalise' it.

Really hoping CD could help out with something more robust but if that doesn't happen this will have to do for tomorrow.

Trying on two different browsers to send a support message to Convergent Design and over 20 times being told the CAPTCHA input was wrong. AGHH!!!

Will PM Mitch which isn't cool but I'm a bit stuck.

Why would it be a BMD issue and not a CD/Sony one?

If the files play back perfectly on the 7Q but on PC or Mac across all NLES and Raw utilities has the Magenta issue, surely something is going on with how CD is prepping those filmes, no?

Well with most new still cams they come out and then issue patches to the Image software.. or the image software people make the patches?

Its I guess a two way street.

The bmd crew might just be able to see that some tag is 'unusual' and fix it.

Im on them for reading the cine EI values for non raw shooting.

Oh it was certainly way under when I shot it. It was never for public consumption :)

odd that raw digger saw it correctly

but the only aspect that is a concern is the magenta bit and that is unrelated to exposure if the other threads on this are anything to go by.

My only tests with highspeed (180fps internal) indoors I got bit bad with underexposure but was sure it looked exposed fine when I shot it. I was just screwing around so I need to take a better look. I forget how much light is needed when you record highspeed.

Well we see that The core data has the channels aligned.

But that is no good to you (this week) if you cant get a software that can correctly untangle it.

It is also no good if you have to expose so right you cant actually see the o7q screen

I have 99 problems but exposure ain't one :)

Just to reiterate, I wasn't even trying to expose anything - I just needed something moving in front of the camera so I could check the various processes like the CD SSD merger etc.

I don't think I have any issues relating to exposure probs on the camera or the monitor. Just purple-itis.

Thanks for looking into the raw Sam.
