Uploading using Mini Dv tapes?

I'm to broke to afford a p2 card and I cannot figure out how to upload the footage i shot on a mini dv tape using a firewire through the Hvx200. Does anyone have any ideas?

If you're trying to capture the footage to your edit system, what edit sysytem?
As soon as I connect the camera to our PC, SpeedEDIT opens a capture window and off you go.
What are you connecting to?

In FCP, once the easy DV preset is chosen, it's just a matter of setting the cam in the tape mode and transferring.
