AC160 Upgrading from HMC150 to AC160 or HPX250...

Well, let's not get into that discussion! But the important point is, FCP7 is EOL, so if it's Log and Transfer doesn't support 1080/60p AVCHD, then you'll either have to transcode outside of FCP or switch to something else. B ut Try that "something else" first!

Will do. :)

FCPx 10.0.4 supports importing of 1080p60 finally! I was never a FCP6 expert but FCPx seems to be way better at tagging footage and organizing it. Sure if you're producing a full length feature then the jury is out but for lesser projects, wedding, shorter projects (although my first wedding got me 6 hours of footage!) then FCPx seems to be great and some say they can edit twice as fast. I also have Premiere Pro 5.5 but the interface on FCPx is years ahead. Each to their own. I've been trying to get myself to like Premier Pro but not having CUDA graphic card, I'm dead in the water but my 2012 mini works great with FCPx. I always seem to go back to FCPx. When I finally install CS6 I'll see, but the interface is so ugly in Premiere.

Interesting. I've seen the baby steps of FCPx slowly build it back up toward the pro level. Adobe always seems to do well with updates and integrates well with Encore, Photoshop and AE. I guess I've just felt stuck in many ways when FCP7 stopped updating or fixing major issues. But Apple in many ways has great hardware but is often the first out of the gate with software but then falls WAY behind eventually (eg. iPhone). The interface doesn't bother me (personal preference), but then again my first 5 years learning how to edit was using Premiere so I got used to it. Now I'm knee deep in FCP7 but it still has issues and is no longer updating so I'm forced to make a switch. I have CS 5.5 already and I hear people raving about CS6. I'd love to hear what you think of CS6 when you install it. Since this is what I do 60 hours a week, I'm going to take a long hard look at both and make a decision by the end of the summer based on what I do (Weddings, multicam, AVCHD, 720p60 entirely on a 24p timeline...looking to one day do 1080p60 :) ) THANKS!
