Upgraded FS700 on firmware V3 problem capturing long clips

Not sure if anyone else who has upgraded their FS700 with the V3 firmware is encountering the same problem but any clips over 6 or 7 minutes in length FCP log and transfer takes a lifetime to transfer and then at the last minute crashes out and doesn't transfer the clips. I have tried it both on my mac pro 8 core and on my laptop and get the same issue. Pre-firmware upgrade it happily transfered clips of well over an hour at not much over real time, with no issues. I know Sony have announced that the firmware V3 is to be replaced by 3.1 because of some issues but I didn't think this was one of them? Anyone else come across this or worked out a solution? At the moment I'm having to log and transfer longer clips in 5 minute chunks and its still taking ages to do so. Not sure if this might have something to do with filming in S-log2? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Which version of FCP are you using? Transcoding long clips from AVCHD has always been an issue for FCP 7 and there are some changes you can make to the preferences to alleviate problem.

I'm using FCP 6 - Pre firmware I had never had a problem using log and transfer. A few months ago I shot 10 one hour pieces over 2 days and was able to capture each one whilst filming the next with no issues at all. Definitely seems like something has happened since the firmware upgrade. I've emailed Sony today so hopefully will get an answer. I would be surprised if I was the only one who has this issue though....

Ok try this - adjust FCP memory settings to the following: 70/ 75/ 8000/ 2500
Seemed to work for me.
Don't think it's a problem in FCPX.
I had same problem with log and transfer into FCP 7 with clips that were around an hour in length pretty sure that was before upgrade although can't be sure.
Good luck.
