Upgrade advice

Hello all,

I am not sure where to post this as it is a bit of software and audio advice required.

We currently shoot with a dvx100b and a rode ntg2 mic. Our editing package is premiere elements 4.

I would like to upgrade the software as well as get a wireless lav mic (2).

Please could you advise me on what software packages to look at - my budget is around $1000.

For the wireless lav (interviews) I would be looking at around $400 to $500.

All advice appreciated.

For wireless lav system, look at the Sennheiser Evolution G2 100 system. It's a great system, but the lav that comes with it is not the best. I'd spend a little more and get something like a Countryman EMW or B6, or a Sanken COS11.

+1 for the Sennheiser mic.
As for software:
Premier Pro CS3 or CS4 is pretty full featured and you already know the basics of how to use it.
I have Premiere CS3, Final Cut Pro 8, and Avid Liquid and there are a few things each one has that the others don't, but they are small details. They are really all surprisingly similar. To the point where if you know one really well, you can figure out the others in mere minutes.
FWIW, I almost always end up doing most of my post in Premier.
