Its probably just me, but I still abide by the phrase that "resolution doesn't tell a story." I've always thought the F3 had a more organic looking image than any other camera than the Alexa. I'm not dissing a Red, so don't be upset. Its only an opinion.

Not sure why I would be upset... I love the image from the F3. Also not sure why you quoted me, what you're saying has very little to do with my response to FilmDude's.
 
I would be very impressed if 1) Sony gave us 60p with the new firmware, 2) bigger bitrates, and most of all 3) we get through one thread without getting into a camera debate involving Red.

Well RED is going to come up now more than ever since its 4k territory. I mean who would buy an FS700 + 4k upgrade + 4k recorder for what will likely exceed the cost of a used RED One MX or Scarlet? I'm just saying...

It really has nothing to do with a firmware update on the F3, and I'm trying not to respond but since it will be ages since we know about the firmware...

When is 5k not really 5k? When its not debayered in the camera. It makes a nice advertising bullet point, but almost all other cameras are debayered in the camera. The Epic is really closer to 4.2k and the Red One is really closer 3.3k resolution.

Red is good with advertising hype. Remember 3k for $3k?

Do I think the F65 at 8k will make a difference. No.
