BARRY, antOmic just said you're not smart or handsome! I think you should remove his movie from the contest.
Anyway, have you ever met Barry? Maybe he is handsome. Maybe he is the sexiest man alive. 8) Maybe he makes me question my sexuality on a daily basis. What Barry and I share is much bigger than any contest.
But alas, if my love for Barry fades after Jan. 7th, it is purely coincidental.

Barry, Is this artist signed by a major label or is she a local artist? I can't really judge the stills. Its kind of like judging some girls picture and saying she's ugly when you haven't met the girl in real life. I would love to see some footage...

Hi guys, Im a total newb (first post) here but in regards to spiders post about major label vs local I have to step in. Major labels might cash out some money, and local artist are well... Local artists. Im normally a black and white person and there is no inbetween about ideas. But with this topic I would have to say that there is plenty of grey area.
Im just a music nerd at heart and having purchased a dvx on monday, my passions are sure to evolve. The last post in this thread reminded me of an article I read about 2-3 years ago about major labels: http://www.negativland.com/albini.html
The url is certainly not the original posting but it is a good reproduction of the one I am referencing.
I dig the stills and think this is looking good and hope to see the finished cut soon. I personally like the bleached look, even though your client may not. Props.

Guys, make up your mind! They both are rather flat.
I already explained about the 3rd shot - that was a very small room, and really difficult to put a light anywhere. We shot some background light from an adjacent room through a curtain, but apparently it wasn't enough. Also, I didn't see the original, this may be exacerbated by the desaturated look Barry's going for.
The one in front of the store - oh well. All I will say is 'it was late in the (overcast) day, we were tired, and were rushing to get the remaining shots done... I should have noticed it and put some extra reflection board up, but... after the battle, everyone can be a general :-[.
In any case, try as you may, Barry is unbribeable by your flatteries.
