Unpacking the 300.... No base plate???

So I was excitingly unpacking my new 300 this evening, enjoying that fresh from the factory smell, lovingly peeling back the protective films, etc. and I realized when it was all over I didn't have the quick release plate. Is Panasonic not including this with the 300 making us go out and buy it individually? My HPX-500 came with a plate, it seems a bit odd the 300 did not...
 
ok maybe i should have checked the forum a bit before posting...seems others have posted about alternatives to the expensive panny plates you have to buy... still a bit chagrined it wasn't included
 
It also works perfectly with the Sony VCT plate (I am using that with the 300, in fact). You can often find those very reasonably on eBay.

The HPX500 doesn't come with a plate. I have a package that I put together that has a plate and a soft case, which is what your vendore chose to sell you. Sorry for the surprise.
