C300: Underwater Bag

Looking for an inexpensive underwater bag for the C300.

Will be used as a cover when shooting around waters for safety, example: boats, pools, surfing, rain

And it will be submerged underwater, but under shallow waters. Maybe a couple feet at most.

Dont want to spend an arm & a leg. Something cheap.
Is there anything out there?

I certainly wouldn't want "something cheap" if I was considering submerging a ~$14k camera + glass under water.... I'd want the best solution regardless of price! haha

Large Ziplocs. You can find them at Walmart for about 10 cents each, or at B&H for about $100 each. If you're really looking to save some money you can often find great deals on used Walmart Ziplocs.

It's way too expensive to risk. Use a Go Pro. I have used them for a water park client and they look great. There is no reason to take the underwater risk you are considering unless it's an extremely profitable, consistent client. Also, check with your insurance agent. I have had policies that did not include maritime. The reason is some cameramen will throw their old cameras overboard to get a new one so check on that. But look into Go Pros.

+1

Itll probably be more of a safety thing in case it gets splashed by water or something.
I most likely won't be submerging it. Maybe even holding it just above the water line or half and half.

Thanks David. That's pretty much what I was looking for. Is a bit much so, but maybe worth it for safely reasons. I'll look into it

I would go GoPro route especially since the black shoots 4k/2.7K. We considered getting an underwater bag for my partner's C100 but it's too risky so we went with a GoPro...

If you want to shoot half and half horizontally you need very calm water and the following trick. I produced a fishing video where on a very wide angle we wanted to see the boat and below (hopefully) some fish or at least the casting of the lure. I had a large (Series 9 ND6) neutral density filter cut in half at a glass shop and that was the only way I could see half & half. There is a very big stop difference between the two halves of the frame.

That's cool, do you have a link to the clip?
