Undercranking..suggested settings

Hi
I understand that undercranking(reducing shutter speed in combination with slowing the frame rate) is often used in low light, night scenes with little or very slow movement in order to increase the exposure.
Can anyone point me to examples, and or suggest some starting points for shutter speeds, frame rates? Of course these depend on a lot of variables, but really just need some guidelines to follow.

You can not under crank with the T2i and I assume the 7d. You have 3 frame rate options 24p, 30p, and 60p. The later only available in 720p mode. You can change the shutter speed from the standard 1/50 (1/60 if indoor lights flicker). Use the dial on the front to dial down to 30. You will lose some of the filmic look and most people will recommend faster lenses and/or a light.

I would suggest posting this in the After Effects on "Post" related forums. You'll find more help there.

Could you explain how After Effects would help with shutter speed and frame rate on the camera? Any post production software you use might help get information back sometimes but black is black and if no image information is there all your gonna get less then black noise.
