unable to mount Nikon prime manual f/1.2 lens to GH1 with Novoflex adapter?

I don't understand. I have the Novoflex MFT/NK adapter which allowed me to mount my Zeiss lenses and it's supposed to allow me to mount Nikon lenses, but it seems like the Nikon f/1.2 manual lens just won't mount onto my GH1 even though the Novoflex adapter is attached.

What am I doing wrong? I don't wamnt to force the lens on and risk breaking something.

Thanks to anyone who can help me.

The only thing that would make sense is if the adapter you have either only works with AI/AIS & G lenses and the lens you have is non-AI, but according to your link however, it should be AIS.

Is it possible that your 50mm 1.2 is not really AI/AIS? Maybe you got the wrong lens from BH?

I think I've read that some adapters work fine with AI/AIS AND non-AIS lenses, and others only work with AI/AIS, I believe there is a lever/pin/something-to-that-effect that is different with non-AI lenses and some adapters can compensate for that, and take either AI/AIS or non-AIS, and other adapters do not.

Lots have folks have converted their older Nikon non-AI lenses to AI (cheap and easy) so it's possible that the adapter company did not think to make the adapter non-AI compatible.

Or perhaps, the fact that the Novoflex is compatible with the "G" series lenses (which have no aperture ring) is the problem - maybe the mechanism for adjusting the aperture on G lenses that Novoflex has added makes it so the non-AI lenses cannot physically mount to the adapter (don't know if this is the case or not, just speculation).

Does the mount on your Nikon 50mm f1.2 look different in *any* way from your other Nikon lenses? Maybe post a pic of your 50mm f1.2 mount and the mount from one of your other Nikons and we can figure it out!

Definitely appears to be an AI-S lens. From reading up on this lens, it looks like the rear element is quite a bit bigger than most Nikkors and sticks out a bit further as well, don't know if the Novoflex adapter just wasn't designed with this in mind, or what...does Novoflex have customer service?

Hi,

Unofrtunately. It doesn't look like it. Only email and they're a company based in Germany.

I'll be emailing them now. Thanks very much for your help.
