I have been using the Zacuto plate with Petroff matte box for the past few days and must tell you it blows away the Chrosziel. First, the Zacuto plate is adjustable on both horizontal and vertical planes. It has a very solid attachment to both camera and to tripod plate. The Petroff matte box can be built in stages, as noted above. The follow-focus seemed a little stiff to the DP that was shooting my camera on Wed, but, then again, I had just assembled it in haste and probably could have tweaked the tolerances a little better. If I were buying today, this is the ONLY route I would take.

Good to hear Ned, thanks for the info. It sounds like there is some adjustability in the tolerances of the FF ? Any vignetting with two filter stages on the glass ?

I don't like the fig rig.
If you have the money get a glidecam v20 or steadicam flyer. Make sure it holds 10-20lbs because with the M2 and HVX plus mattebox, FF, and other misc items it will be over 10 lbs.

As far as mattebox, get what you can afford. They dont really matter much except look and the filter trays. I would go with the 4 x 5.6 or whatever the size is.

As far as support rods, I would just get Redrocks to make setting up the M2 less of a big deal (get a shim kit from them), although i do not know how hard it is to setup on other systems.

I am no expert by any means, but I have to comment. I feel compelled.

By the way I am extremely envious of your spending bread..... I wish i had dough like that. Best of luck
