exactly. happens to me all the time. this was the first time i actually turned the idea into a video. hopefully it won't be the last. this was my most fun project yet....

yea I hope to see more from you man. I think I may finally start on one myself, I have always wanted to but never got around to it. I'm downloading the full rez version now, thanks for hosting it holymexicobatman!

Awsome photography! I especially liked the one where the guy in black and white turns to the camera and his pupils go smaller.

It made my noodles taste good (and I'm seriously eating some crappy noodles).

Just got to download this now -
just wanted to add to teh positive feedback.
Nice work.
I really liked the timelapse and reverse work you did on the night time traffic shots.

And the lightbulb.
How'd you get that? Seems like it would go by too fast at 60i to get a good shot.

Overall - nice work.
It was really enjoyable to watch.
Keep it up and post some more stuff.

I definitely love 'corky' and the green eyes... Did you use any special lighting to achieve how they stand out so much? I really like how the blacks blend and the green just jumps right out at you... very nice video!

hey thanks. the lightbulb was done mostly at 60i, deinterlaced, remapped to 24fps, then slowed to 50% from that. so it actually plays back at 20% from the original. to get the shot i put bulbs in a floor lamp, set the cam on my tripod and shot out the bulbs with a bb gun. there are 4 different bulbs in the sequence. i had the camera as far away as possible to avoid damage from stray bullets...i had to zoom in on the bulb.

i had that scene lit really bright then used the n.d. filter to darken it up. that's why the eyes pop so much. as soon as they looked into the light, they lit up. they are pretty green naturally but i helped them out a bit in c.c.

I thought you used a bb gun because you can see in one bulb how it gets a small hole first... Great work..

I loved that video and have watched it many times already..

Wow. I am very impressed. It is inspiring to me actually. I am working on a project in a similar vein and it is great to see stuff like that...thanks for sharing.

thanks. most of the normal looking shots are pretty much straight from the camera. obviously the tinted shots were cc'd and there is diffusion added here and there. this camera shoots so clean that you can pretty much do whatever you want and it looks good. before i got my dvx, i was using a cheap sony digital 8 cam. i couldn't touch the footage with cc without adding a bunch of noise. just goes to show that you get what you pay for and that every link in the chain matters.....

haha i had a digi 8 cam b4 too but i must say for the price (like 200 bucks or less?) it is quite a good cam with firewire capabilities.
