Hello all. Here is the deal:
I am capturing straight from my HVX200a through firewire to my MacBook Pro, and using P2CMS just as Barry Green directs in his post. I recognize all of the clips through P2CMS, then select all of the clips and do a File>Export to my Lacie RAID 0, 1 Terabyte drive.
Then I open Premiere Pro CS3 and just simply import the MXF's into my project from the Lacie drive. Then I notice that one clip every time seems to be duplicated. Obviously not a huge problem, just want to understand what I am possibly doing wrong here.
Also, when I am exporting the P2 clips from the HVX200a through P2CMS, can I keep dumping them all into the same Contents folder on the Lacie? Or should it be that every time I dump a card it has to go into it's own separate Contents folder? Please let me know because I am already building up some footage and I don't want to have a wack ass work-flow.
I am just thinking about if I buy a backup drive and then I would have to do a massive drag and drop of one Contents folder that has all of my footage in it.
Sorry, I am new to this work-flow. But I love it! Please help me out.
