GH4 Two questions for the GH4 early adopters who had a GH3 before

I've got two questions for the GH4 early adopters who had a GH3 before:

1.) It would be nice if someone could test how long the screen info will be shown on the OLED display before it completely disappears, especially the little exposure meter at the bottom. Is there a difference between recording and standby-mode? Will other screen infos like a grid disappear after a while, too?

2.) I know the GH4-display is much sharper, but how much better is it really when using a display loupe like the Zacuto Z-Finder? On the GH3 I could count every single pixel and focusing was not that easy.

Thanks!

Very good Questions! I hate the disappearing Displayinfo on my GH3... I want to control the Audio Levels all the time like on GH2! So please could someone who got his GH4 check this out? THX!!

I believe audio levels, remaining time and battery level stay on screen (I could be wrong here, but I believe that's the case!). I got to play with the GH4+YAGH yesterday at a Panasonic presentation in London...such a wonderful camera!!!

Some people have been testing and reporting their findings on the the display info timeout here: http://personal-view.com/talks/disc...nic-video-camera-user-reviews-and-opinions/p4

I found the GH3's LCD to be very usable with a loupe, surely much better than the GH2 (the pixel grid is very prominent), though you can see the pixels if you really look. That said, I see no pixels on the GH4's LCD w/3x loupe. The LCD is much better, still have to test more to determine just how good it is for critical focus, but it is very nice.

Across the board the GH4 is just a really nice upgrade. As a GH2/3 user I feel right at home. The LCD and the viewfinder are both upgraded. 4k workflow is great in-camera. Syncroscan for the first time... finally. Panasonic really listened to us. Glad I upgraded and will likely keep all of my GH3s for b-camera and multi-cam shoots, but will likely add another GH4 soon.

Thanks, that's exactly what I was looking for. So the display info does not disappear anymore. Good news.

Sounds good. I need to test it myself as soon as the camera is available here.

I have a question for GH4 owners as well (didn't want to start a new thread).
I've seen in a video that Variable Framerate is only available in 1080p modes, does this mean you can't do timelapses in 4k internally? I of course wasn't expecting high frame rates in 4k for slowmo, but low timelapse framerates I was hoping were possible.

Like the GH3, you can create timelapses in still mode, which are essentially 4k, and actually will use the full sensor, rather than the cropped portion the GH4 uses for the 4k video modes. These still images can be consolidated in-camera as a timelapse video clip.
