Two new 4K cameras from Panasonic - GX8 and FZ330 (300?)

I blame the English language gender neutrality for the confusion ... and thanks.

The rumor sites report this to be a 20 MPX MFT (Sony made and designed) sensor. I suppose we'll see tomorrow how it does its 4K but I wouldn't be surprised if GX8's will be severely cropped while (the presumably upcoming) GH5 will be oversampled.
 
Panasonic is really losing their ground vs sony. I love panasonic but these recent developments leave more to be desired :/

A small sensor 4K camcorder for $600 instead of $1,500+? Sounds like a good deal.

GX8 looks like a model too many - a decent product in and of itself but without much feature/quality differentiation in the Panasonic lineup from the models immediately below and above it.
 
Does anybody knows Lumix FZ300 if have ND's and remote for zoom?? ( lanc or something )

It should be perfect camera for that price..

How much Latitude?? ( same as GH3/GH4 ?? )

LANC control via Pani smartphone/tablet app
Lat won't be anywhere near as good at Pani's MTF cams.

With the tiny sensor, this cam should work pretty decent in strong light. OOF control will be near non-existent.
 
message to pany....why didn't fz300 have 1080/120p ? If it can do uhd , it could do fhd/120p ! That would have pulled some of the carpet out from under sony , btw !

I'll meet your 'call' and raise you on that request: IMO, this cam should do 240P (or higher) to make it really compelling.

Woooops............. looks like this cam will do 120FPS in HD and 240FPS in VGA mode:

"High Speed Video in HD
You can record high-speed videos* at 120 fps in HD quality or 240 fps in VGA quality and play them back in dramatic slow motion.

...I asked this question last week on another american website and was told that a Panasonic rep stated that these new cameras would have a 30 minute recording limit. It would be great if unlimited 4K is true, as I know a few people that were kind of pissed when they found out their FZ1000 had the dreaded 30 minute limit.

Checking the camera specs on the B&H Photo website, the FZ300 and the GX8 cameras show the same 30 minute limit. So I'm expecting a 30 minute limit just like the FZ1000.

No specs from Pani USA yet.

Pani Australia has posted GX8 specs and shows 120m record time: http://www.panasonic.com/au/consumer/imaging/lumix-g-cameras/dmc-gx8.html
Got to hunt for it on this page (more specs)
