AC90: TV News Look

I want to set up my AC 90 for a TV news look. Is the best setup: 1080p, PS mode, 50p (I have a Pal camera) ? I am trying to get clean, TV news style shots. I am not concerned about 24 frames per second or film looks or out of focus stuff. Just trying to keep it simple. Does that sound about right? Thanks

1080 50i should give a TV news look, that's what the BBC shoot at and broadcast at, for example.

Personally I'd shoot 1080 50p wherever that's available, then you have options of converting to just about any other lesser format.

The "live" broadcast look is due to the frame rate; both 50i and 50p will give it to you.

If you mean shooting 50p instead of 50i, I would agree.

If you mean shooting 50p all the time and then converting to a slower frame rate, then that's not your best play, especially if you're referring to 24p.

I would also recommend NORM1 matrix and HD NORM gamma. Either 50i or 50p will provide the "live" look you're looking for.
