TV Logic VFM-056 5.6" HD LCD Monitor Group Buy

Actually the TVLogic takes a 12v power supply, so pretty much any voltage between 5.6v and 12v will suffice, as far as I know. The biggest issue is just finding a power supply with the correct sized barrel connector.

Gotcha! Thanks!

Can the monitor be powered by a Sony Lithium V-mount? The specs say inbound voltage is 12v, but the vendors sell a D-tap accesory specifically for the monitor.

Another question. What's the focus-in-red assist like? I read one post saying it was a little slow and maybe not too accurate. It's just what I read, but I am keen on getting the monitor.

Actually the focus in red (or blue or green) feature is the best one I ever used, since you can fine tune it to your needs, camera, sensor and lens.
It is pretty accurate and the main reason why I bought this monitor.

You can choose color (red, blue or green) and sensitivity, (big deal with different sensor sizes and lenses).
Like on my HVX200 I use a much more sensitive setting than on my 5D.

Yes, monitor can be run from any D-Tap battery bracket with 12V battery. D-Tap cable is available from TV Logic's distributor Preco and dealers.

Focus in red is excellent and tunable. Flanders Scientific is very poor on their 7" monitor due to processor limitations. With the TV Logic, I often use zoom, focus in red and scope simultaneously.

Preco has promised info about vectorscope 2X gain soon.

Update:
I have just been told we will have 2x Vector and many other new features the end of May.

Great thread! Purchased mine today through Filmtools. They noted that there are no plans for a new firmware upgrade at the moment.

A battery bracket for Canon LP-E6 finally appeared in stores !!

http://www.abelcine.com/store/Canon-LP-E6-Battery-Bracket-for-TV-Logic-VFM-056W-WP-5.6-Monitors/

But 105$ more expensive than other brackets ? Why ? Is made of platinum ?

Νone Tvlogic's site US or Korean has this bracket in accessories list.

At that price and considering the fact that is using only one battery E6 ( instead of the two of DP6 ) I doubt that someone is going to buy it.

I was ready to buy the Panasonic bracket for D batteries and one AA for backup solution. I think I stay on that solution...

Price is that indeed as I can see from a UK store

But photo in that store appear the bracket to use two batteries....

It's the worst thing about this otherwise magnificent monitor - the crap quality accessories and their extortionate prices. They are really having a laugh with these battery brackets. The normal Sony, Panasonic and Canon brackets where already way too expensive and terribly manufactured (cheap plastic and dreadful wiring), but this new LP-E6 bracket is the biggest rip-off my eyes have ever seen. I thought the acrylic screen and useless sunhood where the biggest con in broadcast history, but this new battery bracket is in a league of its own.

Sorry about the rant, but certain things I find really irritating.

The double battery bracket looks like pretty typical Chinese eBay fare, around $8 apiece (and they turn a profit on that!).

...but I just pulled the trigger on this thing, will probably use my Tekkeon batteries to power it. Geez, at $1400 it ought to be, dunno, 56", not 5.6" :-P

The sunhood is shite, that was established some time ago. But what exactly was wrong with the acrylic screen?

Filmtools has the new Canon bracket in stock ? I really wish to ask them about the quality of this plastic....
