Thanks for sharing this. Now I can line up my Marshall lines with the custom lines on the image since it doesn't hit full screen. You gave me some ideas. Thanks again.
@muroshi: Depending on what editing system your using the process is different. On APP CS5 I use the media encoder to crop my final product. In Sony Vegas you can use the crop/pan tool. I don't own a mac, so I'm not sure how to do it in FCP. But I'm sure its a simple process. If you google how to crop in FCP I'm sure you can get the details. Just crop it to 1920 by 815.
Thanks so much for this tutorial! I'm having some FCP crop issues:
all is good if I crop after I'm finished cutting, but if I ever want to throw something extra in instead of cropping, it resizes the 1920x1080 footage into the 1920x810 frame. Any way to stop this from happening?
very cool. But I would reccomend Magic Lantern. You won;t cover up any displays
Aso, NickSnow: Try to make your sequence the proper aspect ratio BEFORE you bring your clips in. just hit no when it asks if you want to make everything the same
@DavidFulde: I do use Magic Lantern as of the day after I posted the tutorial. lol. But its still there, so if people don't want to install ML they can still get 2:35:1 framing.
