1. Anyone have any sucess hooking up their HD-TV to their computer for high definition editing? Any Sucess hooking it up as an additional screen along with their computer monitor?

2. If it did work for you....what are you using?

A. Apple/PC?
B. What type of cords are you connecting it with?
C. Are you using any medium in between to make this possible such as a professional input/output device? Any Auxillary unity in between?
D. Being an HVX user...did you notice any loss of image quality than if you were to run the footage directly from the camera via the component cables (red-blue-green) to the television? If you did lose quality..could you please explain why?
E. What type of TV did you hook it up to? 1080i? 1080p?

3. The dude at the apple store said I can run final cut studio through apple TV onto my high def plasma without any loss of image quality. Is this true? They have duped me before..

All help is appreciated. I am sure that others will find your answers just useful and informative as I will.

Thanks in advance....

MXO Matrox with FCP and both a Samsung LCD and Pioneer Elite.

Nice footage -- both sets are 1080i. Don't know why anyone would buy 1080p.

The Apple store salesperson claiming the AppleTV will result in no image quality loss really shouldn't be smoking that stuff. It's illegal.

or it should be free.

I use:

PC (Premiere)
Component Cables
The trick is in the video card: Matrox Parhelia APVe - sends video out to component/composite/s-video via a variety of adapters
I dont notice any quality loss, but also havent really compared the two like that.
720P Panny Plasma looks awesome, 20" SD CRT TV looks pretty good for being downrez'd to sd, 1080i Dell 24" is really nice for timing edits with but the noise and flat colors are not to be trusted. I do primarily use the Dell for editing though and CC with the TV although thats getting ready to be replaced by a more suitable monitor, just not sure which.

Dont know about the Apple TV thing. I know people are using the Matrox MXO with FCP for this.
