Trying to transfer from P2 card to hard drive using USB 2.0! Help!

Hey everyone. I'm trying to use my HPX170 as a P2 card reader to transfer my footage on the P2 card onto my desktop computer hard drive using a USB 2.0 cable. I've tried installing the P2 driver on my computer but I get to a message that asks me to connect the P2 device (my HPX170) to the USB 2.0 port and then click "OK". Its already connected to the USB 2.0 port! And I have the camcorder on PC mode and it says USB Device Connected on the HPX170 LCD screen! But when I click "OK" on the message thing, it just beeps and keeps telling me to click "OK"! Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong? The only thing I can think of is somehow I don't have a USB 2.0 driver on my Windows Vista 64 bit OS, but when I click on Device Manager, and then click on USB, it shows a bunch of USB drivers! Someone please help! Thanks.

Oh, and I tried installing the P2 driver anyway, without the HPX170 hooked up to my computer, and then restarted my computer but my computer still won't acknowledge that the HPX170 is hooked up to the USB 2.0 port afterwards! And none of the P2 drivers show up in the Device Manager!

Since no one else seems to want to answer your topic and help you with your problem, I'm going to step in and save the day. The plug to the front USB ports might have come loose from inside the desktop tower. Try plugging your HPX170 into the USB ports on the back of the desktop and see if you still get the same issue. Let me know if that works.

Dude, you're a genius! That worked! The wires connected to the front USB ports must have come loose from inside the tower because the USB ports on the back of the tower worked fine! I gotta say, you are by far one of the smartest people on this forum. I usually don't kiss ass but, in this case, I'll gladly make an exception! You da man, Filmkid!  :dankk2:

Hey, you! Yeah, I'm talking to you! The person reading this thread... stop looking at me like that! You know you dream about replying to your own threads but, only I had the guts to go ahead and do it, so stop judging me! Go f*lm yourself, you jerk!

HAHAHA! This is what happens when you get rid of your television and you have to resort to other means to entertain yourself.
