Trying to timecode sync movieslate app with my AF100

Hi Everyone,
First time posting a question.

I just bought an AF100 and I am trying to sync the movieslate app with it. I have the cable to do so. I have been testing the cable and I got it to work by going in the menu of the Af100 TC/UB SETUP>EXT TC LINK>MASTER. The movieslate app reads the TC and that is great. But when I leave the menu on the Af100 to start recording, the app stops getting the TC signal. I want to able to able to start and stop the clapper by hitting the record button on the camera. Has anyone had experience doing this? It would be awesome to get this to work, the website claims it is a feature on the app but i can't figure it out.

the AF won't continuously send timecode.

To get this to work, make sure you have the AF in "FREE RUN." Then do as you did before to sync them - MovieSlate will read the TC and run free from there.

thanks for the answer. Good to know that the AF100 wont send out the TC continuously. Now i have to look up what free run is... haha. It looks like the TC just keeps going. What's would be the advantage of that? Would I be able to control "Movieslate" from the camera (start and stop) or do I have to activate them both separately. Sorry for the questions I am new at this.

Thank you

I use movie slate from time to time . You need to have the AF100 in free run or time of day code and sync the movie slate to the camera.

In movie slate go to the slate behaviors tab and turn "off" a couple of slate behaviors: number one is " Reset time code on clap" ... I have no clue why this would be an option.. turn it off.
aAlso turn off "pause time code when shot ends" then you should be good to go.
