Hi there, i'm new to the forum and could use your help...

I'm trying to make a multiclip in FCP with footage from an HV20 and footage from an XH-A1 to no avail. Their codecs don't match and I'm trying to figure out where i went wrong?

I shot the HV20 in "HDV" mode (not 24) and I shot in HD "30F" mode with the XHA1. I used the same "easy setup..." in FCP before i captured each tape which was set to "HDV - 1080i60" (not firewire basic).

So, when i look at the clips in my browser inside FCP I can see that the HV20 clips list "HDV 1080p30" for their codec in the compressor column and the XHA1 clips are "HDV 1080p30".

When I try to make two clips into a multiclip i get an error explaining that the codecs don't match.

I'm guessing that it's about how i had FCP set before I captured but I don't get which i'd want to change and why. It's not intuitive to me that i shoot in 30F but set FCP to 1080i60, etc.

Would love your help.

thanks,

max
