Trying to Import P2 Media

When trying to import footage that we shot on the HVX200, I am getting the error message- File Error: 9 file(s) recognized, 0 access denied, 48 unknown. I know how to import P2 media, when it's a dmg file, but there is this one reel that we have that is inside a folder named CONTENTS (with LASTCLIP.TXT below the folder) Inside the CONTENTS folder there are 6 different folders (AUDIO, CLIP, ICON, PROXY, VIDEO, and VOICE) Does anyone know how to import P2 media without doing the standard procedure (File - Import - Panasonic P2...)? I would really appreciate any suggestions that you have. Thanks

So, it sounds like you are using FCP. How are you trying to import the P2 files? Do you have a Mac connected to camera via firewire and are reading the P2 cards in that manner? Do you have a P2 card inserted in the PC slot of a Powerbook? Or acquiring from hard drive or from Firestore? I think the best procedure to follow is to copy contents of P2 to hard drive whether by drag copying or making dmg. Then import from your MXF files on disk. I had few problems when going from camera to my G5 and it isn't sound procedure anyway. You want to save your MXF files since they effectively are your master tapes.

You're supposed to do the file->import->panasonic p2 operation on that directory. Don't go inside the contents folder, but point it at the folder that contains "contents" and "lastclip.txt" and it'll work.
