Trouble reading HDDV tapes :(

Hey there

excuse me for my poor english, I'm french and a new user of XH A1.

I have a problem while reading a HDDV tape (which I read a couple of times without any problem) : I put the cam on VCR/Play mode, I push the Read button, the tape starts, reading a few frames (10-12)... but the screen remains still blue and the timecode doesn't go forward anymore.

The strangest is : when I stop the tape, the timecode jumps at the correct numbler (if I played the tape during 10 seconds, it jumps of 10 seconds !)

I changed the tape, it was the same... I put a DV tape, tried to read : no problem.

I don't think I touched anything... does it seem familiar to you, guys ?

In the 'SIGNAL SETUP' menu, what's your setting for 'PLAYBACK STD'. I believe it either needs to be set to match the tape you're reading or set to 'AUTO'.

It was set to "AUTO", I tried to change it to "HDV", but it doesn't work... :-/
 
Hey MrFab,
If it's set to auto, I'm not sure what to tell you. Are you able to capture the HDV recording from the firewire port?
