Trouble downloading?

As we are using a new downloading system, and computers will be computers...

If you are having any trouble downloading films, let us know in this thread and we'll get the problem fixed.


If you are a mirror provider and want your mirror closed for any reason (such as impending bandwidth limits) let us know here too and we'll pull it. Only post your mirror's main domain (eg: mikkowilson.com) - no need for the full URL.

Can you provide the exact URL for the file you are trying to download (copy from the "click here to download if it doens't start" link)?

Hmm, that's a strange one.

If it's only occasional; just refresh and try again. If it's happeneing every time on "dvxuser4", then I'll pull that mirror.

Yeah I got the godaddy page also...but i must say i have every movie and pretty much smooth as glass... great coding:) must see your PHP must see your PHP:)
 
I noticed that if I tried multitasking while a download was in progress, I sometimes lost the remaining part of the download without a error msg.
Going back and checking the file sizes of my completed downloads I found a few whose size was 1M, 7M, ect. Redownloading and staying on the page till complete is working for me.
 
yeah, I had one of Norm's "Where Silence Falls" stop halfway through and die. I downloaded again and it worked.

Looks like, in general, the system is working well for everyone. That is fantastic and makes all the hours of slaving away at the computer building it worth while.

My hope in building this, was to make a better experience for everyone involved...I think we took a step in the right direction. The next step will be to refine it, work on some of the issues that did pop up. Beyond that, there is a lot of work to be done on the "back-end" of the system so that it will be easier for us to administrate the system.

Thanks for posting your experience(s) so I can improve the sytem.

my quicktime player keeps saying "buffer overrun" and stops playing each one about 2 minutes into them. I think its just something with my computer...and not the downloads. But any thoughts on that would be nice.
 
Do you have the latest version of Quicktime? It needs to be version 7.0 or newer because they are all encoded with the h.264 codec.

If you have that, then the next most reasonable possibility is that the files are not 100% completely downloaded. You might try re-downloading one film and watching it download (stay on the page until it completes) and see if that file works better.

several of the shorts im downloading stop and die halfway through. several wont open at all and need to be downloaded a second time.
 
I'm finding that some films are playing sound only :oS ie Promised, Me v's You, Untitled....

EDIT: Sokay, I got it sorted now :)

hmm, now i'm having trouble downloading Alone, it downloads okay, but when i watch it, it stops after a few seconds then i get an error report come up :oS any advice?
 
It's come up with error report after playing for 24 seconds about 6 times now. It's the only film I haven't watched. :(
