Tripod Advice Needed

I'm out and about a lot too, so for me, one of the factors near the top is total weight. A day of shooting around aircraft means a lot of repositioning.

The up and downside is the wind, it can really blow, meaning I have to hang a weight from the Miller Compass 15.

I remember reading somewhere, you double your total cam weight then add 50% when selecting your new rig. Sounded good to me.

I have a Sachtler DV15SB with carbon fiber tripod and this setup is maybe good for lighter cams especially if you have a lot of add-ons on your hpx300/370. Probably a 18 system and upwards suite better. Also i am a bit dissapointed by the finish of Sachtler products, a lot of dents, imperfections which are hand repainted with a black coating. Also the mid devider is not carbon which seems odd to me when you buy a CF tripod !!!!
