Thought some of you may be interested in this. I shot this short documentary on the C300 and 7D... it played at Tribeca in 2015 and is now streaming on Vimeo and was selected as a staff pick today. Enjoy!

That was damn good. Quickly stopped trying to tell the 7D from the C300, or looking for blown highlights or being a nitpicky camera nerd, because it's a fascinating film. Unobtrusive, confident lensing.

"And we call this the Stevie Wonder" - love it.

Right there with you. it just looked good.

Had an honest aesthetic. not so cinematic, that it felt like fiction, but also stylized and intentional enough that it became quite surreal and beautiful in its own way. Everything was expose excellently. Composition was a bit looser, but in a good way. A lot of BG elements and colors that 'busy' the frame, much like real life snapshots, but with the rich, almost other worldly saturation, it felt very fresh and magical. Gladly, the colors were still very real. Blue was blue, and not cyan - which seemed to help in that marriage of real and imaginary.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. The look was something we realized as we were filming (and absorbing the experience ourselves), but once we committed it became very intentional.

I have to give great credit to our colorist Will Cox at Final Frame in NYC. He did a fantastic job in creating a rich heightened palate that was still rooted in reality. This is my second time working with him and it is always a pleasure. If you need any commercial or film color work done I cannot recommend Final Frame highly enough.
