i've been researching different stabilization rigs for a 5 week trip in india. i have a 60D with 18-135mm kit lens and azden smx-10 mic. total weight is less than 3 lbs. i'd like to spend less than $200 if possible. size of the rig is a major concern, and i'd like to get some type of stabilization capability for walking shots.
so far i've seen a few types:
the u-shaped bar which basically adds a handle to the camera. i think it provides minor stabilization because the arm can hang down and be isolated from the rocking hips/torso.
simple shoulder rigs like the spiderbrace. better ergonomics, but i'm not sold on its stabilization though.
the hague dslr rig. it's a bit outside my budget, but size is attractive and it provides good stabilization from the test footage i've seen. i have read in these forums that there are better alternatives, but i don't know what they are.
if anyone can throw out some ideas or make recommendations it would be very appreciated. :cheesy:
