transitions

anyone who knows how to apply a transition to many clips at the same time. or do i really have to apply one transition at a time between hundreds of small clips!?

Can you clarrify? I'm thinking of two possibilities:

1.) You have a lot of clips side by side you want to add a lot of transitions to.
2.) You have a lot of clips stacked on top of each other you want to apply a lot of transitions to.

i have all the clips in the timeline. about 200 clips. and i want to have a cross
dissolve between all the clips....

select them all (just draw a big window around them, or edit, select all), then drag them to your canvas ... and put it in the "Overwrite... WITH transition" (it's either red or yellow)... should take care of it.

Make certain that the cross dissolve is the default transition first.

And then make certain you play head is set to the first frame before you do this.
