Transformers: Dark of the Moon

I hated SP2. The first one was set in a very real NYC. They duked it out on the Roosevelt Island Tram! And most non-NYers probably don't even know what that is. But from the first scene of 2, when he has to deliver a pizza from the Village to like ****ing E 83rd st, I thought: "oh boy, here we go." Then, there's that mysterious elevated train line that does not exists, uses a real MTA train letter, says it goes to Brooklyn, then ends at the East River(for plkIot purposes). And worst of all, Doc Oc is working on what cold fusion? Hey Doc, I thin, you got a Nobel sealed up just for inventing those arms that plug DIRECTLY INTO YOUR SPINE.

Have not seen this one. I usually don't go to any movies like this, but was considering it. Oh and Kholi, I am going to watch SuckerPunch. I've heard too many polerized reviews on both ends to think there's got to be something going on there...

+1

I would love some spine arms.

Also, Ebert is a d1ck. I truly believe he has a personal vendetta against Bay. Not a great movie, I'll give him that. But the worst experience watching a movie ever? I call Bull. I've seen far worse movies and I know everyone else has too. I'm not even talking about the 'so bad it's good' stuff either. I would gladly see TF3 in theaters again, at full price, that watch Sofia Copola's 'award' winning snooze fest "Somewhere". I wouldn't sit through that again if you paid me.
The last thing I want when I go see an action movie is to be bored, and Transformers II was extremely boring to me. It went on far, far longer than the material was worth, and it featured endless amounts of characters I couldn't care less about.

If a film is going to be mindless, it better be brief. Bay's movie are far from brief. If Bay's movies were 90-95 minutes long, they would be fine, but for some reason he has to make them all 2-3 hours long.

I read the first few posts. I see a few tempers flaring. I haven't seen Transformers nor will I ever because it doesn't interest me. End of my story.

It's where I'd want to live if I lived in NYC.

Nobel? Think of the billions in license rights alone.

If you add "Plus, the new one's in 3D", this sums up EXACTLY why I won't go see TF3.

Anybody who uses words like 'cacophony'actually knows what it means should be banned from all non art flicks!I luuuuurv the braindead action CGI stuff coming out of Hollywood lately. FX barriers must be broken so that the art flick afficianados (ooh! Nice word)can use it to make epic movies like outlander and AI! :)

lol

Did you just say AI was epic?

Speaking of worthless piles of crap...

Reading through this thread is like rocking up at Butlers convention in a pair of hi top sneakers! Ha ha ha

If this movie is so bad, dear denizens of DVX, pray tell one movie that you adore that I may begin to understand you lot. Please don't say Black Swan!

I don't know how this movie could get such bad reviews from you lot, its a really fun movie! Eye candy from one end to the other, there's a story that can easily be followed and a couple of laughs in between!

I think imma go to my trailer and get my vest and slops now!

It's also possible that they like action movies. Just not bad action movies, such as the ones Michael Bay releases from his sphincter every couple of years or so. Also, if anyone mentions Michael Bay, I can't help but think of this every time:

Come on, Wilbur. You're trying to paint us as some elitist film snobs, and yourself as 'the rebel', but it's just silly. Some of us didn't care for the movie and explained why quite clearly, but you'd rather put on a lame attitude that you're too cool for school. You can say you liked a film without having to cut down and belittle another person's opinion...And for the record, Commando is great fun, Schwarzenegger at the height of his Neggery goodness. What's not to love?

Good man!Now you can be radical with me and enjoy movies like Universal soldier and commando! Woohoo!

This is where you lose credibility. Can you really not see the difference between the greatness of Commando, Predator, Die Hard, the Matrix, and any number of truly great actioners, and a bad action movie?

Why not just enjoy the movie, as you obviously did, and keep your remarks from getting personal?

Let's all just cool down a tiny bit here.

One of the things that depresses me about internet and fanboy culture is that people feel they need to put on extreme attitudes in order to distinguish themselves. Something is either the greatest thing ever or it sucks, and if you don't agree you're an idiot. Maybe it's because people don't want to think any more deeply than this, because, I don't know, thinking is for fags or something. But one of the reasons I come to a forum like this is so I can discuss things in a deeper way then just giving a thumbs up or down. I personally don't care what anyone's superficial opinion of a movie is. That does me no good. I hope that with an intelligent discussion of why something worked for you or didn't, I can learn something of value.

wow wow wow Red Flag :)...sorry man I dont know what I was gonna post anymore...But tonite Im going to see this movie...I rejected to see part two Ive seen some parts( trailer) of it...just did not work for me at all.
But will give this a try hope Im not to dissapointed....will probably enjoy it more then I expect .

I didn't think it was that bad. It's not supposed to be the greatest film ever, just entertaining and tons of action. It was certainly better than the second. The plot is pretty predictable though, and there was a ton of unnecessary dialog. If you can show something on camera, you don't need characters to explain it as well. Overall it was good, mindless fun.

And whoever lumped Commando in with great action films like Predator, Die Hard, etc. clearly hasn't seen Commando. It's about as cheesy and over the top as they come.
