Transferring an FCE project to FCP?

Good Day All,

I have decided, with great enthusiasm, too purchase the latest FCP Studio. As FCE is a great starter, it's limitations have begun to hamper my workflow. That being said, I have current projects that have been started in FCE and I would like to 'import' them into FCP to continue on that platform.

Can this be done? Is there any precautions or necessary steps to this transfer? Has anyone done this and able to suggest some tips?

You can however open an FCE project in FCP, assuming the FCP version is the equivalent or newer version than the FCE version.

Once it's saved in FCP however it may not open again in FCE.

Thanks David...a one way ticket sounds fine too me! Would I be correct in assuming that all media (music, stills, transitions, etc) will also be carried over into FCP?
