transfer of DVCproHD720/30p footage into FCP

I’m attempting to transfer DVCPro720p30 footage direct from an HVX200 to FCP. Although all capture settings match the footage, the video plays back in what appears as slow motion or a low frame rate... choppy in other words. The audio is fine. This seems to be happening after transfer. The footage is fine during playback in the log and transfer window. I should add that when I transfer some other footage from the same P2 card that was recorded at 60i, it transfers fine.

I did find a post where someone had the same problem but the question was never fully answered. He suggested it might be a firmware update issue with the HVX, but I believe I’m on the current with 2.02. Any thoughts please?

It looks like this. Also, i have learned since that this could be a 30p vs 30pn issue and I need a Panasonic plug in. Maybe that is what should show in the preferences window? Up until now, Ive only shot in 60i so this is my first attempt at shooting progressive footage. Thanks!

Same issues

Same issues

I'm having the same issues... but it's really random... clips from the same card, same day, same time - randomly show up choppy...
IN the import window in FCP, the small circle next to the file shows a half moon for this file.

The video plays fine in the preview window.. but when it imports to FCP it looks like the speed is 2-3 times faster on the video... audio is fine.

Found the Answer!!!

Found the Answer!!!

in the import window... "right click/control click" on the clip in question... select preferences, then UNCHECK "Remove advanced pulldown and Duplicate Frames"

Click "OK"

This solved the problem.
