Transfer from PB to HD with FCP

Shot a music video a few days ago and I had a 200 GB Maxtor HDD and PBook 12" using the P2 Store. Footage is great. We had an AC that was handling the HVX workflow.

My question is: I want to get rid of all the files on my PBook because I have 7 gb of space left on hard drive. When I transfer the files from FCP files from PB to PowerMac G5 what files should I make sure that I have? Because when I attempted to transfer the files from PB to G5, FCP couldn't find them because the .MOV files were missing. SO, I searched for them on PB and found them in Capture Folder and copied to G5 then I could see them on G5. HOWEVER, before I go to delete my ALL files from my PB should I make sure to copy any other folders from FCP on PB? We had many outtages day of shoot and I know that what's on the PB is all the footage...


I do have a copy of all files on HDD...but I don't wan to mess with HDD files in case Editor needs them in the original format or outtage screwed something up in the process that I have not caught.

Here is a case where Media Manager in FCP is your friend.

First, I presume that on your 200 gb external drive you have the original MXF files and your workflow consisted of doing Import P2 to rewrap those as QT.

So, I would go into your FCP project on the PB, highlight everything in the browser window and then bring up Media Manager. Easiest way to do this is to have an external hard drive plugged in. Then have Media Manager create a new project copying all media and render files to a designated folder on that external HDD. Then, just transfer all of that to your G5's media drive. Open the project in FCP, reconnect if necessary, and you will have an exact copy of what you have worked on in the PB with all of your media in one place.
