Transcoding 7D footage [60fps]

Okay so,

I have shot some footage over the weekend and now it's time to transcode. Here's my situation. I shot footage in 60p and I need to do two things with this file.

1.) I need to convert 59.98 to 24fps [So that it will playback in slo-mo.] I'm thinking about using Cinema Tools. Let me know if there's a better route.

Here's the thing I don't get,

2.) How can I convert 59.98 to 24fps but it needs to playback as if it's "Real Time"; synced. As if it's taking out the 36 frames from the 60 frames that I shot. Hope that makes sense.

Please Let me know.

Thanks.

Transcode to ProRes
Use cinema tools to get 23,94 files for slowmo ( don't do this with originals, only copies)
Edit in 60p timeline.

I think that's the way to go.
:badputer:

Because once Cinema Tools converts the originals to 24fps there is no going back.

Yeah, Always have to make a back up folder because CT converts all files within the folder that you selected the original file in.

CeeJay: Are you sure about the whole editing in a 59.98 timeline, so that I get the "True" value of 24p motion?

Thanks,

Murray

If you edit in a 23.976 timeline the 60P footage plays back at about 40% of real time right?

Another situation

Another situation

I used Cinema Tools to conform the Footage and I just notice with my editor, that it conformed the footage to 640x380. I can't find anything in CT that allows me to control the resolution. Has anyone dealt with that before? If this becomes a problem, should I go another route of conforming this footage? Please advise.

Thanks,

Murray

ha ha. Thanks Andrew. YOu know, you could just call me brother. smh. I'll do that then (MPEG Streamclip)

Andrew, It's not playing back slo-mo. I put in 24 for frame rate, and nothing happen. I'm using the Mpeg Stream.

Details.

1280x720
Pro Res 422
100% quality
24 fps
Interlaced Scaling
Upper Field First

Let me know why it isn't playing back at true slomo
