Trailer for "THE NOISE"

Junkie, nice work.

I thought the images were nicely composed and the story seems really interesting.

my problem is that the trailer felt very traditional and formulaic. It worked as a trailer so I really shouldn't criticise but I felt I've seen this trailer a million times before.

You clearly have some skills dude, so push the envelope! Don't rehash what we've seen before. Take us to the next level or at least try to. This felt like a very hollywood trailer to me.

Why compete with hollywood and their ga-jillion dollars? You seem to have a very cool idea and some nice skills. Bring it to me in your voice, not theirs.

two cents.

Here are some of my thoughts.

I dont want to read long sentences on screen. I would rather have a guy with a deep voice say them to me.
I think the black screen cuts near the end are unneccessary.
At the beginning some of the black screen cuts seem to be different lengths in terms of time which kind of throws it off. The second "blink" was really quick compared to the first. After the first blink I dont want to see the same thing come up on screen.

The clock reads 2:13 both times that she wakes up. Is that something important to the story?

I like the lighting in the dark scenes. Keep up the good work

Hey guys, thanks for the kind words and criticism. Glad to hear that you liked it for the most part.

Yeah I kinda knew the black flashes would turn people off a bit. For the ending montage, I needed something to heightened the suspense visually since the movie lacks a lot of physical action, I tried creating action within the cuts with those flashes. I'll go back and cut the flashes out and see how it plays then.

Great eye Hector, the clock reading 2:13 is part of the story and not a continuity error as some people might think. One thing about this trailer that I think people will like is that it doesn't give away the movie like most horror/suspense thrillers trailers do now.

But damn, they are hard to cut.

I'm diggin' the trailer, Action... For sure will look better when you fine tune those blinks in the end. I think your actors are great by the way.

pretty cool, reminded me of a bit of six sense, so maybe rephrase the hook line "what if these noises were trying to tell you something"

very cool. I'd say try to work on the images a little to make it a little more frightening, and of course, the first blink where you see the same image twice. Personally, I'd change that.

other than those two points, so far so good!

i thought the beginning was quite good. I'm just not so sure about the end with the flashing.

for the most part good though..

Wow, that looked great, like your lead actress, i agree with the above, same shot twice at beginning is kinda weird and would rather just see jump cuts at the end with out the black flashes. One trick i have used in that situation is re sizing the same frame and jump cutting, so it looks a little bit different but still gives you the feeling that a jump cut is happening. Hope that makes sense. I would like to see the whole story.

yaso

Ooh, are you talking about where she wakes up (the first two shots are the same with the flash in between)? Gotcha, gotcha. I was confused at first from what everyone was saying. Hmm, I'll try that trick of yours. I actually sorta did that trick with the RAGTAG logo.
