trailer for new feature i just wrote/directed in Ireland with the gh2

It looks good but I don't understand the point of it?! Is the whole feature going to be like this?! Maybe it's original and there's something that I'm failing to see here, but first, it being a trailer clocked at 5 min and so is way too long, it's almost like a short movie by itself, and so secondly, we just see you walking, sure the landscapes look great, but what is the meaning behind it?!

Hope I'm not too brutal here, because visually, it looks good, it's just the substance.

yeah - no point really. The film is being edited at the moment by an editor - this is just me playing around trying to learn fcp x - some folks asked to see the footage - so.... i guess I shouldn't have called it a trailer - more like "a gh2 walk by the ocean in co. cork ireland." No yer not being brutal - 30 years of trying to make films has be tougher then a boat full of vikings about to hit the shores.... well almost - a sideways look from a mutt can bring me to my knees as well - oh well......

thanks for putting this up, Kevin. i mean anything Veedon Fleece ought to bring anyone to their knees right? i'm never in a trailer watching mood, but a couple that aren't made to copy the ones i arrive to the cinema late to avoid?-- golly. anyway, love it.

van the man for a reason.... - yeah not much a of a trailer fan either - by the time they get thru with trailers and ads at the movies i feel like a Dostoevsky character in a long coat filled with bed bugs and want to scream at top of my lungs and make a lunge for the projectionist room with a bloody machette!
Well I guess ya got this from the trailer :) 3 shots that take 2 days to watch.

i was a projectionist at a multiplex years ago, and one of the ways i got my kicks was to draw beards on all the people in the pepsi ads we had to attach to everything. it was a bit painstaking going thru frame by frame with my sharpie, but it made them tolerable and i figured it was a public service, and i'm sure we sold no less pepsi because of it. i guess digital takes that option off the table.

I think it would make a beautiful opening scene. Love the footage, appreciate the fact that most is one long take, which is rather difficult. Looking foreward to checking it out man. Oh, I almost forgot. I didn't really care for the font on the titles. Thats the only thing I would change as far as the scene goes.

Murph, ya kidding me? Son of a gun - yep exactly!!!!

hey bill,
i came up with the main story - wrote maybe half the dialogue - the main irish actor was brilliant coming up with dialogue.

Really great looking imagery! I'm going to be shooting my feature next year in Florida, England, and Scotland. Just such a magical location! Congrats on finding that magic.

well I think that magi found us - that's not false modesty. THis little town they opened their doors to us. I still can't quite figure it out. I always thought "irish luck' was a joke the english played on the irish - but by jesus - we got lucky with this little film. Also the camera helped - no one took it serious. Anyway - good luck on yer film Justyn :)
