trailer for my new film

Re: trailer for my new film

OKOKOK MASTER CRITIQUE HERE..... ok. Just kidding. But I'd rather point out about the actual film, much less overexposure (which is clearly obvious). I don't actually agree with everyone else that shaky camerawork is so bad. I only saw about 40 seconds in, so maybe i missed all the crap footage with the shakiness. But to me, a natural shakiness can add a different feel to a movie. A natural shake with interspersed cuts of other peoples reactions and a good story can be just like an alejandro gonzalez inarittu film. (21 grams, amores perros). I don't think this falls in that category, so try to work on that a bit. Also, I hated the full screen, you're clearly not using your camera to it's fullest extent. you shot in 30 interlaced when the sole purpose of the DVX being so badass, is the 24p and 24pa modes. What was your thinking behind that? (I'm really actually wondering).

i actually didnt shoot in interlaced i shot in 30 progressive. i had to mix it with 60i shots with other cams and had to be burned to a 29.97 idvd anyway for the class. 24p did not match well with the vx2100.

Re: trailer for my new film

You mean the VX2100 doesnt match well with the DVX :P

I would have shot 60i to match that one. Then again, I dont think Ive ever used anything outside of 24p.

Young is too modest. What he may be too timid to tell you is that Vince was on set with us. We shot a whole climactic fight scene with him, which we'll now have to cut for legal reasons. See, Vince really is a prima donna, and also narcoleptic. He wouldn't take instruction, and kept falling asleep on set. So Young had to axe him. Gallo just didn't understand that pain was temporary, and that film is forever ;)
Here's a prime example. Not only was he nodding off, but our other triad member (far right, leather jacket) couldn't keep his eyes off the dude. (Must be his hideously ill-proportioned torso) See? Totally unacceptable.

Thanks Hillcity for stepping up and revealing the truth. I was kinda afraid to bring up the fact that I did cast him for the film but it just wasn't working out cause a lot of people here seem to really like him. But yea, I met him in NY a few years ago while attending film school and got his contact information there. He was telling me about "Buffalo 66" a film that he made and I was very impressed with his acting. I told him that he had to be in my new film...so he agreed I was so surprised - and then when it came to shoot the fight scene and stuff, the guy couldnt even stand up to a pulled punch that my actor threw! He literally screamed and started crying and fell to the ground and was writhing around saying "ow it hurt it hurts!!" Then after putting my arm around him and hugging him and stuff we did another take and then he kept falling asleep - so I gave him some McNuggets and booted him

Re: trailer for my new film

If you want to emulate Vincent Gallo, I think you just need a lot of cocaine. Then the camera shaking is unintentional.

Dude, I don't know what i"m seeing here, i mean i would not want to watch this after the first minute..I mean whats up with the shakey camera movement and the overexposer man. Dude I know you are in the process of editing this but man you have to go back and reshoot some scenes because they are just plain awful my man.

Good luck!
