Trailer: "American Ramadan"

Wow...looks very informative and interesting. looks like you put a lot of hard work in this project. Congrats! Can't wait to see the final piece, please post it when it's completed.

my only comments are: be sure to adjust/clean up the audio so it's easier to hear. Not to be insulting, but the title sequence looks a little canny. Myself being jewish, i'm always interested in a deeper perspective in other religions.
Those are nitpicky comments, as i know this isn't the completed piece but keep the audio comment in mind for final cut.

Good stuff! Keep up the hard work!

Thanks for the input! - ya i know the audio needs cleaning, and we haven't done any color correction yet either (couple of shots have the whites blown out).

We're planning on doing all the cleaning in post!

I filmed with my DVX100A in Dallas, I followed 3 families around, I had another camera guy in L.A., he followed 2 families around. I directed him - he was using a XL1, and his shots came out a little shaky, but the 2 cameras' pictures work pretty well together.

We shot everything in 30 - i'm pretty happy with the pic quality, butu man did I learn a lot!! You can say, I cut my teeth on this project. Although, my next one will have to be in HD!

I'm still watching the trailer but it's look nice from what I can see. You get kudos for getting Siraj Wihaj

EDIT :

I just finished watching the whole thing and I loved it. You really got a range of muslims and touched everything. I also really like the rabbi discussing Hakeem Olajuwon because I think that was important that he fast during games

Thanks Silverwolf, ya, Siraj Wahaj is really a great guy to work with - you learn a lot from folks like him! It was a priveledge working with him.

Although, we are seriously considering taking him out of the doc - because of the negative publicity he may draw due to the lies, fabrications and accusations against him from a few years back of being involved as an aid to terrorism. Although he was never charged, and I know him personally - it is a sad state of affairs.

Anyways, I don't want to get political here or in the doc - this doc is about building bridges, and how all 3 Abrahamic faiths share in the tradition of fasting, but we feel that we may get undue negatuve focus because of that issue. If we replace him with another speaker - it will still have the same effect. We are also planning on adding a pastor or reverend to talk about it from the POV of the Christian faith, as well as a doctor to cover the medical angle.

Twocik23 - it's working now: http://www.americanramadan.com

Cheers
