Hey Dennis,

I'm definitely back. I wish I could say that I used the adapter in India. The truth of the matter is, there was too much dust in the desert that was getting in the adapter. Plus the speed at which were were shooting was not conducive to using one either.

Sounds like you're busy too. Glad to see that people are happy with your products. I know I am.

Bob

Something has come up for me for this Sunday. So I won't be able to make it. However, if anyone wants to pick up my 35mm adapter to show at the meeting, please give me a ring. I trust you guys will take care of it.

Just checking if the meeting is still on. I plan on coming.

Looking forward to meet everybody!

Only 2 days to go!

Afternoon Everyone,

Yes. We are still on for this Sunday, February 18th at 7pm. Location again is the Artful Dodger Pub, 12 Isabella Street.

When you enter the pub, turn left, we'll be on the main floor. I've reserved some tables by the window and I'll have a sign.

Looking forward to meeting everyone there.

Cheers,

Peter

Will not be able to attend... sorry.

Will not be able to attend... sorry.

I was really looking forward to meeting everyone, but unfortunately I will not be able to make it after all. I hope there is a good turnout and you will schedule a second meeting. I would really like to be at the next one. Good luck.

I'm still in, though I might be fashionably late. I'll try not to be on principle, but yeah looking forward to meeting you guys.

How was the meeting?

How was the meeting?

I was not able to attend, but was wondering what the turnout was and whether there will be another meeting?

It seemed fairly good, though I haven't gotten an email with everyone's contact info yet. Still I had a great time and had some genuinely great discussions about not just video but about the creative aspects.

1st meeting follow-up

1st meeting follow-up

Morning Everyone,

Sorry for the delayed response, I've been out of town for most of the week. I'll be emailing everyone's contact info this morning.

Thanks again to al those who showed up Sunday. It was a blast!

I agree with epplejacks, the discussions were lively and ran the gamut of topics. Wanabebruce brought his HVX, so it was an education for those of us (me in particular) who had never had a chance to handle it.

One of the topics was the upcoming SpyFest. If everyone's interested, I think we can combine our technical and creative resources and produce a kick-ass entry. PM me if you're interested in participating.

The next meeting is scheduled for the last Sunday in March (March 31st), same time, same location. I'll be posting a separate thread for that meeting in the next few days.

Have a great weekend.

Peter

Hi everyone,

I'd like to thank Peter for organizing the meeting. The setting was perfect. I'd stick with it for a while to build some base - I'd like to get at least ten regular attendees. On the other hand, a more technical content could attract more folks. Any thoughts?

I am already looking forward to our next meeting. I was also going to suggest pooling our resources for the SpyFest. I have a draft of script that is rather unserious, probably putting it into a parody spy movie, but still needs some work.

Anyone else working on something for SpyFest?

Life has been stupidly busy for the last bit. Haven't been on the boards for a while. I am planning to make it to the next meeting though.

As for the spy fest, send me a PM and I'll forward my email address. Don't know how much time I have, but if I can swing it, I will.

I second the "busy" comments.

March 31st should work well for me for the next meet up.

In regards to SpyFest I don't have time to do my own entry since I'll be shooting a feature in the spring and I only have 20 pages of the script done so far ;) but I'm more than willing to donate a few evenings or either helping with a production or editing.

I don't know if this means anything to anyone here but when I was younger there was a line of make-believe toys called Spy Tech which I own quite a few components for as a collector since I consider them the coolest toys of all time. Maybe we could work them in and have them immortalized in pixels?

XCheck, I'm shooting a spyfest movie. Maybe we can help each other out?

I won't be back in Toronto by March 31st. We should plan one for one in late April? Maybe once a month we meet to talk about script ideas, production help, technical difficulties? Something lowkey... maybe even a pot luck!
