Evening Everyone.

I just purchased my DVX, and I was wondering if anyone was interested in getting together here in Toronto.

That's Toronto, Canada I'm afraid. Not Toronto, Ohio.

I'm thinking about Saturday, February 24th around 7pm. We can meet at the Artful Dodger Pub, 12 Isabella Street (that's 2 blocks south of Yonge & Bloor).

EDIT: DATE IS NOW SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 18TH AT 7PM

Saturday is no good for me, but if you made it Sunday, Feb 18/07 I might be able to make that.
 
Ok. The Sunday, February 18th works for me as well. Let's see what everyone else thinks. I'm flexible with the date.

Definitely interested. Weekends actually work for me... I am marking the 18th in my calendar.
 
The 18th wouldn't be good for me, but I am interested. If all goes well this first meeting, let me know and I'd definitley be up for the next one.

We're hoping to make the meeting a consistent a day so people don't have to think about it. For example, the last Sunday of every month. We'll see what everyone thinks at the first meeting.

Hi Sherman,

I don't know if it's folded or not, but when I looked to find any information (upcoming meetings, etc), I couldn't find anything current on the web or here at DVXuser.

Therefore, we're going to start something fresh and see what happens. Hopefully, everyone's up for a monthly meeting.

The 18th should be fine for me.

Just a note that if future meetings could be on a weeknight that would be better for me, simply because I live in Oakville and work a block south of Yonge and Bloor, so I'd already be in the city. But I understand that most people only have time on the weekends.
 
Is there an agenda for this first meeting or is the objective to simply get to know one another?

I'm afraid TO is the closest city to me that has a user group. I'd love to meet with you guys to collaborate on projects. I know I could sure use a more experienced DP on my shoots...

I'm just wondering whether I should drive up for this meeting or hold off for a future one?

Regardless, I applaud you guys for getting together. In my experience, on occasion I've found it difficult to get a cast or crew together, simply because I'm not surrounded by individuals who have the same passion for filmmaking.

Certainly the GTA is a large enough area to find and pull together a good amount of like-minded individuals.

Any 35mm adaptors in Toronto?

Any 35mm adaptors in Toronto?

Evening Everyone.

I was just wondering if anyone coming to the meeting owns a 35mm adaptor? I've read a ton of stuff about them, and seen a ton of footage, but I've never seen one up close and personal.

If you've got one, let me know. It would be great if you could bring it to the meeting for a demo. I can see about setting up a monitor so everyone can see the results.

Just a thought. Let me know what everyone else thinks of the idea.
