A little background:
My friend Chaz, who is toro y moi, asked me to come and film a house party. I had no intentions of making an actual music video out of it- I was just going to seperate each song and have the whole show online.. I eventually decided to cut all the good b-roll together to just one song... And we are going to another this weekend, one with a definite story line, even if it is abstract, and "Chill-Wave." Anyways, here's "Blessa:"

Would love to know what you think.

i like the concept.
and the artsy moodiness and cool music.
i'd like to see more variety in the shots in the next one....with some wider shots showing the room and crowd and all. just to mix it up and also give us something more to look at...and show us the context for chaz.
that added to having more of a story should make a very entertaining music video!

Oh yeah, it's going to be a definite story line, we've been in pre-production on it for about two and half weeks now atleast. So the story and shot list is pretty much planned out for every second of the song. This one is pretty low-key for sure, all just spur of the moment stuff. Like, "hey can you pump that keg again so I can get a close-up?"

The next song we're doing a music video for is "Talamak" which is actually the song I edited my skateboard video promo to...

Gonna have a steadicam, arri light kit, all the good stuff on this next music video too so it should turn out pretty nice, the idea is pretty fun too. Should be totally finished by the end of the month hopefully. Aiming for that fast turnaround.

looking foward to it!
i hope you keep a lot of the colorful low-light atmosphere even with the new light kit. =)
